Version history
Every 4Dir release with what changed. The newest version is recommended; older ones stay here in case you need them.
- New-version popup with Download, Skip this version and Later.
- Problem reports by email: Tools → Save log for problem report → Send by email (no GitHub account needed).
- Website moved to 4dir.net.
- Preview pane button in the top bar (right of Tools).
- 3ds Max (.max) and Photoshop (.psd) previews in icon views — no need to have 3ds Max installed.
- Preview pane on the right (View → Preview pane, Alt+P).
- Fixed: 4Dir could close when choosing Properties from the right-click menu.
- Tab close buttons (×) now sit fully inside the tab.
- Folder shortcuts (.lnk) open inside 4Dir.
- This PC always shows the current Desktop / Downloads / Documents locations.
- Windows 11 right-click items: Compress to ZIP / 7z / TAR, Copy as path, Pin to Quick access / Start, Open in Terminal.
- Copy / cut works exactly like Explorer — pasting into phones and other apps now works.
- Clear message when the bundled Python (runtime folder) is missing, instead of doing nothing.
- First public release.
