Privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-22. Applies to both editions of just downloader (net.fourdir.justdownloader on Google Play and net.fourdir.justdownloader.full from this site).

Summary

just downloader does not collect personal data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it has no server of its own. Nothing is sent to the developer unless you choose to send an error report by mail.

What stays on your device

• Downloaded videos — saved to Movies/VideoRef. They stay after you uninstall the app.
• Settings and the recent‑downloads list — in the app's private storage.
• Diagnostic log — a text file in the app's storage with the addresses of videos you download, error messages, app version and phone model. Used only to find problems. It is removed when you uninstall the app (or clear the app's storage).
• Built‑in browser data — cookies and cache of the sites you open, like any browser.

Network connections

• The app connects directly to the websites you open or whose links you paste, in order to show and download the videos. Those sites may receive your IP address and browser information as with any visit; their own privacy policies apply.
• "Send browser login info" (off by default): when you turn it on, cookies from the built‑in browser are passed to the download process on your phone so it can download videos you can see while logged in. They are not sent anywhere else.
• Full edition only: every 7 days the app checks GitHub (github.com) for a newer version of its download engine (yt-dlp) and downloads it. The Play edition does not do this.

Error reports

When you tap Report a problem, the app opens your mail app with a mail to support@4dir.net that contains the app version, phone model, recent failed addresses and the diagnostic log as an attachment. Nothing is sent until you press send in your mail app, and you can edit or remove anything first. Reports are used only to fix problems and are deleted when no longer needed.

Permissions

• Internet and network state — to download, and for the Wi‑Fi‑only option.
• Notifications and foreground service — to show download progress and keep downloading with the screen off.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
